The SAFESERIES contact extension from Weidm ü ller uses a relay conforming to EN 61810-3a type forced pilot contact. Relay modules with positive drive contacts are used for functional safety. This makes it particularly suitable for signal monitoring in applications that protect people and machines.
When the application is designed according to EN/ISO 13849-1, it can reach the performance level of PL e. The basic components are also suitable for safety applications according to IEC/EN 62061 to achieve the safety integrity level of SIL3. SAFESERIES contact extension ensures safety feedback to the control level. It consists of four different pluggable relays with matching screw sockets in contact versions 2 NO+2 NC, 3 NO+1 NC, 4 NO+2 NC, and 3 NO+3 NC.
