     Diodes Incorporated brings to market two new high-performance USB PD3.0 receiver controller ICs for the DIODES AP33771 and DIODES AP33772 receiver controllers for home appliances and cordless power tools that allow negotiation of appropriate voltage levels over USB-C . They offer an operating voltage range of 3.3V to 24V. and added to its portfolio of USB PD solutions.

     Simple PIN drive Settings for the voltage and power required by the AP33771 make it easier to use. At the same time, the AP33772 provides greater flexibility for more complex designs that employ µC(including the I²C interface). Both devices have built-in application firmware that automatically negotiates PD3.0 with the included USB PD3.0 compliant charger to get the desired power level. LED lighting (powered by one of the GPIO) clearly shows charging status and potential failure conditions.

     The AP33771 has a preloaded power menu with eight different output voltages and ten different power levels. When connected to a classic USB Type-A charger, the power needs of the end device can be met by changing a simple resistor setting. It also provides 5V charging and supports USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable drop compensation.

     The device is housed in a 24-pin W-QFN4040 package. The I²C interface of the AP33772 provides a more sophisticated system design. It can specify a specific power profile, allowing access to various protection functions.
