British chip design company Sondrel is investing in IC designs below 28 nanometers in China to expand its global business.
Sondrel has opened a design center in Xi'an, and Samsung recently invested $ 7.5 billion in the site for a new 10nm foundry.
Sondrel's Julian Kingsbury said the company was in "an exciting period of Sondrel growth in China."
According to Kingsbury, most Chinese projects are designed based on the most advanced process technology below 28nm.
The China Center will be based on the latest ISO 27001 security management standards to ensure a secure environment for information security management systems.
Read-based Sondrel capabilities span from RTL design to the entire IC design, including verification, simulation and DFT to physical implementation, and include power analysis and yield management.
It has completed more than 200 designs involving process geometries ranging from 14nm to the smallest.
It also has offices in the United States, France, Italy, Israel, Sweden, Finland, and China.
