Texas Instruments MCT8316Ax high speed sensenless trapezoidal control BLDC motor drivers are now available for high speed operation (up to 3kHz electrical) or fast start time (< 50ms) single-chip, code-free, sensorless trapezoidal solutions are available for 12V to 24V BLDC with peak current up to 8A.
The registration Settings of the MCT8316AV component can be set in a non-volatile EEPROM, allowing the device to operate independently once configured. These devices receive speed commands via PWM input, analog voltage, or I2C commands. The device is integrated with three 1/2h Bridges with an absolute maximum capacity of 40V and a very low RDS (ON) of 95MOHM (high side plus low side). The adjustable step-down regulator and LDO's power management feature generate a 3.3V or 5V voltage rail for the device that can power the circuit. Sensorless trapezoidal control can be highly configured via register Settings (MCT8316AV) or hardware pins (MCT8316AT), from motor start behavior to closed loop operation.
Typical applications include brushless DC motor modules, robotic vacuum suction motors, motorcycle fuel pumps, appliance fans and pumps, automotive fans and blowers, and medical CPAP blowers.
