Toshiba's TLP292-4 InGaAs infrared and phototransistor photocoupler consists of a phototransistor that is photocoupled to two InGaAs infrared light emitting diodes connected in antiparallel. The device can be operated directly from AC input current. The TLP292-4 is packaged in a very small SO-16 package. Each TLP292-4 has a guaranteed wide operating temperature (Ta = -55C to 12C) and high isolation voltage (3750Vrms). This makes it suitable for high-density surface-mount applications, such as switching power supplies, programmable controllers, and simplex / multiplexed data transmission.
