Advantech has released the latest addition to its AIW-100 series, the AIW-166K. This innovative Wi-Fi 6E wireless suite is an advanced future-proof product in advantech's Industrial Wireless (AIW) portfolio. It is suitable for industrial solutions that require faster throughput, high transfer rates, and extended battery life. The wireless module supports dual-stream Wi-Fi in the 2.4ghz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands, making the suite a great choice for medical devices, transportation equipment, artificial intelligence, and retail kiosks.
The wireless suite includes Wi-Fi 6E modules, antennas, and cables for product development testing, which reduces overall development efforts and speeds time-to-market for edge networking applications.
The suite with Wi-Fi 6E capability offers higher speeds and bandwidth previously unavailable with Wi-Fi 5, accelerating data rates from 433Mb/s to 600Mb/s in 80MHz specifications 6933Mb/s to 9607Mb/s in the 160MHz range. In addition to faster speeds and greater bandwidth, the main difference is that wi-Fi-6 improves the single-user MIMO and OFDMA states in Wave 1 and 2 to the multi-user MIMO and OFDMA states.
