Advantech has added the IMC-150LPC PoE Ethernet extender to its portfolio of remote Ethernet solutions. The device uses existing coaxial cables to transmit power and data to locations up to 300 meters away. These capabilities are supported by LFPT mechanisms to improve transmission quality. This combination of features and options makes the IMC-150LPC the best choice for industrial and rail network infrastructure upgrade projects where power and network resources are limited.

The series delivers power and data over a single coaxial cable at speeds of 100 MBPS over distances of up to 300 meters, and allows users to improve performance over the previous 100 meter Ethernet transmission range. This allows peripherals such as IP cameras to be used, extending power coverage and network services while saving on cabling costs and reducing installation complexity

LFPT prevents data loss by taking action against link failure events. For example, if a link on one device fails, the other device forces a link shutdown on its link partner and avoids data loss. Link Failure Passthrough (LFPT) is a troubleshooting feature created for media converters and used when local and remote extenders are used in pairs. After this function is enabled, link failures are transmitted through the device on each network segment.

Advanced durability makes it suitable for harsh applications such as trackside monitoring. The series is EMC certified to EN50121-4 and has industrial grade enclosures that support wide temperatures from -40℃ to 75℃.
