SONY ISS has unveiled its latest camera module, the FCB-EV9520L. The 1/2.8-inch camera will cater to a variety of different customer applications. These applications include high-end surveillance systems, off-line industrial testing, medical imaging (for dental and surgical purposes), autonomous vehicles, UAV /AGV remote control, shipboard systems, and more.
The 2-pixel STARVIS 2 image sensor is critical to the operation of this camera. This shows a high sensitivity level with a strong enhancement in the NIR spectrum. Another important feature is the inclusion of super stabilizer technology, which enables excellent image capture quality even when the camera is subjected to strong vibration forces.
The device provides the market with an upgrade path to the widely used FCB-EV7520 family. Because it maintains the same external dimensions (50mm x 60mm x 89.7mm dimensions), the customer is provided with a plug-in replacement that makes integration easy and minimizes the engineering effort involved.
