Advantech released the WISE-2410X explosion-proof LoRaWAN wireless condition monitoring sensor. LoRaWAN sensor is ATEX and IECEx (Zone 2 and 21) certified for monitoring vibration levels in facilities in explosive atmospheres It provides 24/7 triaxial vibration detection and equipment temperature and is ISO 10816 compliant to facilitate success predictive maintenance.
The device provides an integrated ARM Cortex-M4 processor, LoRa transceiver, triaxial accelerometer, and temperature sensor. It also balances the wireless bandwidth between the WISe-2410X and the gateway, reducing the data transfer failure rate between the edge device and the gateway.
It is a LoRaWAN that utilizes a star network topology to provide gateway data relay functionality between sensors and application servers. Communication between sensors and gateways takes place over wireless channels using the LoRa physical layer. Instead, the connection between the gateway and the central server is handled to the application server via an IP-based backbone or Modbus protocol.
The device can directly calculate more complex values such as VRMS, ARMS, Peak, Displacement, Kurtosis, Crest factor, Skewness and Standard Deviation values. The WISE-2410X has edge computing capabilities that can balance the load between the WISE-2410X, gateways and cloud services. And the built-in ARM Cortex-M4 processor allows users to implement more internal functions.
