Texas Instruments AWR1843AOP automotive radar sensor. The AWR1843AOP's extremely compact dimensions provide engineers with excellent integration for low-power, self-monitoring, ultra-accurate radar systems for the automotive industry. AWR1843AOP sensor is an Antenna-On-Package (AOP) device suitable for the 76 - to 81GHz bands.

The AWR1843AOP uses Texas Instruments' low-power 45nm RFCMOS process, integrates a DSP subsystem (which includes a high-performance C674x DSP for radar signal processing), a BIST processor subsystem for radio configuration, control, and calibration, And a user programmable Arm® Cortex®-R4F processor for automotive interfaces.

Texas Instruments AWR1843AOP Hardware accelerator module (HWA) performs radar processing jobs that help the DSP reduce load to perform more advanced algorithms. A variety of sensor applications, such as door opening, parking, blind spot monitoring and lane change applications, can be implemented with simple programming model changes, and multi-mode sensors can be implemented through dynamic reconfiguration. In addition, the device provides a complete platform solution, including reference hardware designs, software drivers, sample configurations, API guides, and user documentation.
