The INA233 device from Texas Instruments is a current, voltage, and power monitor with I(2)C, SMBus, and pmbus compatible interfaces, compatible with digital bus voltages from 1.8 V to 5.0 V. The device monitors and reports current, voltage and power values. Integrated power accumulators are available for energy or average power calculations. Programmable calibration values, conversion times and averaging time, combined with an internal multiplier, enable direct readout of current in amps and power in watts.
The INA233 senses current from the common-mode bus voltage, which can vary from 0 V to 36 V, independent of the supply voltage. The device operates from a 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply, drawing a typical supply current of 310µ during normal operation. The device can be placed in a typical low-power standby mode of operation with only 2µ current. The device is specified over an operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C and has up to 16 programmable addresses.
