The DS125BR111 is designed to support 1-channel high-speed interfaces up to 12.5Gbps. It is an ultra-low-power high-performance repeater / redriver for Texas Instruments. The receiver's continuous-time linear equalizer (CTLE) provides 3-10dB of enhancement at 6GHz per channel. When working in SAS-3 or PCIe Gen-3 applications, the DS125BR111 retains transmit signal characteristics, allowing the host controller and endpoints to negotiate transmit equalizer coefficients. The transparency of the link training protocol maximizes the flexibility of the physical placement of devices in the interconnect and improves overall channel performance. Programmable settings can be easily applied via pins, software (SMBus or I2C), or loaded via external EEPROM. The company said that in EEPROM mode, configuration information is automatically loaded at power-up, eliminating the need for an external microprocessor or software driver.
