Texas Instruments TPS62827 is claimed to be the industry's smallest 5V, 4A synchronous buck converter, it has 2A and 3A friends in the same tiny QFN package. The device's fast transient response and high output accuracy provide excellent performance in a surprisingly small package.
The TPS6282x is an easy-to-use family of synchronous step-down DC-DC converters. The internal reference voltage allows the user to regulate the output voltage down to 0.6V with a high feedback voltage accuracy of 1% over a junction temperature range of C40C to 125C. These devices are pin-to-pin and BOM-to-BOM compatible. The complete solution requires a small 470nH inductor, a 4.7F input capacitor, and two 10F or a single 22F output capacitor.
The device includes an automatic power-saving mode that maintains high efficiency at low loads, thereby extending the system battery runtime. The device provides power-good signals and internal soft-start circuitry. It can work in 100% mode. For fault protection, it includes HICCUP short-circuit protection and thermal shutdown. The device is available in a six-pin 1.5mm x 1.5mm QFN package for this high power density solution.
