Texas Instruments TPS54334 is a 28V, 3A, low quiescent supply current (IQ) synchronous monolithic step-down converter. The device achieves a compact design by integrating MOSFETs and implementing current-mode control to reduce the number of external components. With integrated 128mohm / 84mohm MOSFETs, low quiescent supply current and pulse skipping at light loads can maximize efficiency. Using the enable pin, the shutdown supply current is reduced to 2µA by entering shutdown mode. The TPS54334 provides an accurate 1.5% reference voltage over a wide temperature range, providing accurate regulation for a variety of loads. Cycle-by-cycle current limit on the high-side FET protects the TPS54334 from overload and is enhanced by a low-side source current limit that prevents current runaway. There is also a low-side sink current limit, which turns off the low-side MOSFET to prevent excessive reverse current. If the overcurrent duration exceeds the preset time, it will trigger ic protection. When the chip temperature exceeds the thermal shutdown temperature, the hot cup protection function will disable the device and enable the device again after the built-in hot time period has elapsed.
