TDK Corporation introduced DRM40 series DIN rail mounting redundant modules. Two 10V to 30VDC inputs are rated at 20A and 40A, respectively. Capacitive and inductive loads provide 150% of peak load capability (for 4 seconds). The internal MOSFET reverse current protection device provides a low dropout voltage of 200mV, which reduces the voltage loss in the module.
When the two input currents are balanced and the output load is shared equally, the LED indicators on the front panel can be visually displayed. Module applications include factory automation, process control, and test and measurement equipment, where two power supplies are used in a redundant configuration, connected in parallel to achieve higher power or for battery charging.
