Infineon's growing portfolio of single-channel door drive ics now includes the new EiceDRIVER 1EDB single-channel door drive ICS family, providing 3kVrms (UL 1577) of current input-output isolation, ensuring robust ground loop separation. Their CMTI exceeds 300V/ns, making these devices an excellent choice for hard-switched applications that support a variety of topologies.
The new series consists of four parts (1EDB6275F, 1EDB7275F, 1EDB8275F and 1EDB9275F) and is optimized for high/low end applications. They address PCB layout issues that are common in server and telecom high-power applications such as SMPS and UPS systems. With the increase of power density requirements, electric vehicle charging design usually requires fast switching power MOSFEts. Photovoltaic inverters utilize silicon carbide MOSFEts because they can both reduce switching losses and significantly improve power density. The new series meets all of these applications, ensuring high system efficiency and robust and safe system operation.
All products offer separate extremely low Ohm (0.95Ohm) sources and (0.48Ohm) fill current outputs for ease of design, providing typical drive strengths of 5.4a peak pull current and 9.8A peak fill current. This feature plays an important role in reducing switching loss of power MOSFET. The input-to-output propagation delay is accurate to +/-4ns to reduce switching losses, which is critical in fast switching applications. Typical output stage clamp speeds are as short as 20ns and support functionally safe system operation, especially during the entire boot process.
