The TC2117 is a fixed, high precision (usually ±0.5%)CMOS low differential voltage regulator. The device is available in a 3-pin SOT-223 and 3-pin DDPAK package. Designed specifically for battery-powered systems, the CMOS architecture of the TC2117 eliminates wasted ground current and significantly extends battery life. At full load, the total supply current is typically 80 μA (20 to 60 times lower than the bipolar regulator).
Package Types
Key features of the TC2117 include ultra-low noise, an extremely low voltage drop (typically 450 mV at full load), and a fast response to step changes in load. TC2117 has over mild and over current protection. The TC2117 has a stable output capacitance of only 1µF and a maximum output current of 800 mA.
The TC2117 is a precision, positive output LDO. Unlike bipolar regulators, the TC2117 supply current does not increase proportionally with the load current. In addition, VOUT remained stable and within the regulatory range throughout the 0 mA to 800 mA workloads
