The Souriau 8STA circular connector has the same material and design features as larger military-spec connectors such as the D38999. They will operate reliably in extreme conditions and are designed for applications requiring high performance, small size and light weight.
The 8STA Size 01 is the smallest round connector with 3 #26 detachable contacts and is an excellent solution for Size and weight reduction in extreme vibration environments. Typical applications include racing cars and unmanned aerial vehicles, engine control units, portable communications equipment and data acquisition systems.
Key features of the connector family include 13 housing sizes, up to 128 contacts, from 3A to 200A and six or seven color-coded keyway directions. Free and panel mount housing styles include compact integrated rear housing for heat shrink bushing, fixed half offering double hole or space-saving single hole panel mount fixing. The secure 1/3 turn forward locking mechanism is further enhanced by clearly visible color indicators that indicate when the connector is fully locked. At the same time, the quick-release and blind release versions offer more versatility when access is limited.
Choose rugged aluminium plated bodies or non-plated composite bodies for long service in the harshest environments. The mating connector seals the IP67, while the sealing version, including the lead, provides reliable barrier seals when unmated. Versions with special fuel insertion resistance provide additional resistance to immersion in fuel without loss of performance. The series is rated for operating temperatures ranging from -55C to +175C, 500 mating cycles, 300g shock at 3ms (EIA-364-27) and vibration at 147m/ S2 at 10Hz to 2000Hz.
