The MAX2039 high linearity passive up converter or down converter mixer is designed to provide 7.3dB NF and 7.1dB conversion loss for the RF frequency range from 1700MHz to 2200MHz to support UMTS/WCDMA, DCS and PCS base station transmitter or receiver applications. IIP3 usually performs down conversion and up conversion for+34.5dBm and+33.5dBm respectively.

Typical Application Circuit

The LO frequency range of this mixer is 1500MHz to 2000MHz, which is very suitable for low side LO injection architecture. (For pin compatible mixers for high side LO injection, please contact the factory.) In addition to providing excellent linearity and noise performance, the MAX2039 also provides a high level of component integration. The device includes a dual balanced passive mixer core, a dual input LO selectable switch and an LO buffer. The balance devices on the chip are also integrated, allowing single ended RF input for down conversion (or RF output for up conversion) and single ended LO input.

Pin Configuration

MAX2039 requires that the nominal LO driver is 0dBm and the power supply current is guaranteed to be lower than 135mA. The MAX2039 is compatible with the MAX2031 815MHz to 995MHz mixer pins, making this series of passive up converters and down converters very suitable for the application of common PC board layouts in two frequency bands. The MAX2039 is a compact 20 pin thin QFN package (5mm x 5mm) with exposed blades. The electrical performance is guaranteed in the extended temperature range of - 40 ° C to+85 ° C
