The ADM1186-1 and ADM1186-2 are integrated four-channel voltage monitoring and sequencing devices. The VCC pins require 2.7V to 5.5V power supply. Four precision comparators, VIN1 through VIN4, monitor four voltage rails. All four comparators have a reference value of 0.6V, with a worst-case accuracy of 0.8%. A network of resistors located outside pins VIN1, VIN2, VIN3 and VIN4 sets undervoltage (UV) trip points for the monitored supply track.

The ADM1186-1 and ADM1186-2 have four opening-out enable outputs, OUT1 to OUT4, used to enable the power supply. Open leakage power good output PWRGD indicates whether the four VINx inputs are above their UV threshold. The state machine monitors the status of the UP and DOWN pins on the ADM1186-1 or the UP/DOWN pins on the ADM1186-2 to control the direction of the supply sequence.

In the WAIT START state, the rising edge transition on the UP or UP/DOWN pins triggers the power-on sequence. In the POWER-UP DONE state, the falling edge transition on the DOWN or UP/DOWN pins triggers the power-off sequence.
