The NIS5135 self-recovery electronic fuse introduced by Diodes Incorporated is designed to improve system reliability to prevent downtime and catastrophic failures. It is used in plug-and-play applications (including hard drives and solid-state drives, printers, and set-top boxes). By restoring the product, this electronic fuse helps reduce unnecessary on-site returns. The NIS5135 operates in a wide input voltage range of 3.1V to 18V, with a rated current of 3.6A, and integrates NMOS power devices with a low 30mΩ RDS (ON) to reduce power consumption. It also has an internal current limit to avoid voltage drops caused by normal external sense resistors in the load path. The overvoltage circuit can limit the output voltage without turning off the power of the device, while further protecting downstream components from undervoltage lockout (UVLO) and thermal shutdown circuits (with latch (NIS5135MN1) or automatic retry (NIS5135MN2)) Damaged or premature failure) option. The industry-standard pinout of the NIS5135 is packaged in a small, flat U-DFN3030-10 package to minimize application footprint, allowing it to adopt existing designs, thereby providing another low-cost approach to mass production.
