Diode Inc.'s BCR42xUW6 linear LED constant current regulator integrates a transistor, diode, and resistor, and is used as a constant current regulator (CCR). The device is adjusted with a preset 10mA nominal value, which can be adjusted using an external resistor up to 350mA. They are designed to drive LEDs in a string and reduce current to protect themselves when the temperature rises.
BCR42xUW6 can be used in a variety of applications where the device's maximum power supply voltage is less than 40V. For LED dimming, the low-end control can enable the (EN) pin, which can be pulse-width modulated (PWM) up to 10 kHz by the microcontroller. The company stated that no additional external components are required, and the fully integrated SOT26 minimizes PCB area and component count.
