ADI's LTM4668A quad DC-DC step-down μModule regulator includes outputs that can be output in parallel in an array with a maximum capacity of 4.8A. The package contains the switching controller, inductor, power FET, and supporting components. The device operates from an input voltage range of 2.7V to 17V and supports an output voltage range of 0.6V to 5.5V. Only large input and output capacitors are required. The device supports frequency synchronization, multiphase operation, selectable burst mode operation, 100% duty cycle and low IQ operation. High switching frequency and current mode architecture allows very fast transient response to line and load changes without sacrificing stability.
Fault protection features include overvoltage, overcurrent and overheat protection. Power modules are available in a space-saving and heat-resistant 6.25mm x 6.25mm x 2.1mm BGA package. The device offers a SnPb (BGA) or RoHS-compliant termination coating.
Typical areas of use include telecommunications, networking and industrial equipment, multi-track load regulation, FPGA, DSP and ASIC applications.
