ADI has introduced a low-power, high-performance radio transceiver for battery-powered applications. It enables more reliable wireless connections, reduces the number of retries and packet loss, and extends battery life. The ADF7030-1 has a highly sensitive receiver, excellent signal immunity, and low power modes, including the industry's lowest sleep mode current. The transceiver is designed with proprietary advanced radio technology and is ideal for users of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, smart metering, security and building automation, industrial control, and wireless sensor networks. The ADF7030-1 Sub-GHz integrated radio transceiver uses 2GFSK modulation and supports narrow-band and wide-band operation in the sub-GHz ISM band with data rates from 0.1 kbps to 300 kbps. The radio transceiver also supports wireless M-Bus (WMBUS) and IEEE 802.15.4g-based protocols. The new transceiver has excellent receiver sensitivity, can maximize the link budget and support larger cell sizes, and has higher anti-interference ability, while also improving system reliability. The transceiver has a smart wake-up mode that provides lower total power consumption, which results in a longer life in a battery operating system while maintaining excellent RF performance. The device can enter a low-power sleep mode and consumes only 10nA of memory. The ADF7030-1 radio transceiver emphasizes flexibility and ease of use. Its on-chip ARM Cortex-M0 radio processor has radio control and calibration functions, including timing control to reduce engineering development time. The highly programmable packet handler saves even more valuable time by simplifying the programming interface and code development on the host microprocessor. The company said that comprehensive factory testing gives engineers the peace of mind to deploy network settings without spending extra time optimizing the settings to maximize performance.
