The Allegro A1101-A1104 and A1106 Hall Effect switches are the next generation replacement for the popular Allegro 312x and 314x series single-pole switches. The A110x series devices produced by BiCMOS technology have the characteristics of fast power-on and low noise operation. The device is programmed after packaging to ensure increased switching point accuracy by eliminating the offset caused by packaging stress.

The unique Hall element geometry and low bias amplifier help minimize noise and reduce residual bias voltage that is typically caused by device overmode, temperature drift, and thermal stress. The A1101-A1104 and A1106 Hall effect switches include the following functions on a single silicon chip: voltage regulator, Hall voltage generator, small signal amplifier, Schmidt flip-flops, and NMOS output transistor. Integrated voltage regulators allow operation from 3.8 to 24 volts. A wide range of on-board protection circuits enables ±30 V absolute maximum voltage ratings for automotive and industrial motor reversing applications without the addition of external components.

All devices in the family are the same except for the magnetic switching point level. The small geometry of the BiCMOS process allows these devices to be provided in ultra-small packages. The available packaging styles provide magnetic optimization solutions for most applications. The LH package is the SOT23W, a small low-profile surface-mount package, while the UA package is a three-lead ultramicro SIP for through-hole installation. Each package is lead-free (Pb), 100% matte tinned lead frame.
