The MAX2680/MAX2681/MAX2682 Micro, low cost, low noise down conversion mixers are designed for low voltage operation and are ideal for use in portable communication equipment. It is manufactured by high frequency, low noise, advanced silicon and germanium process, and is packaged with 6-pin SOT23, which saves space.

Typical operating circuit

              

The signal from the RF input port is mixed with the signal from the local oscillator (LO) port using a double-balanced mixer. These down-conversion mixers operate at the RF input frequency between 400MHz and 2500MHz and down-conversion to the IF output frequency between 10MHz and 500MHz.

The MAX2680/MAX2681/MAX2682 is powered by a single +2.7V to +5.5V power supply, allowing them to be powered directly from a 3-cell NiCd or 1-cell lithium battery. These devices provide a wide range of power supply current and input intercept (IIP3) levels to optimize system performance. In addition, each device has a low-power shutdown mode, in which it typically requires only a supply current of less than 0.1μA.
