The MP2101 is an internally compensated 1.6MHz fixed-frequency PWM step-down switch with a 200mA low-drop (LDO) linear regulator. Available in 3mm x 3mm 10-pin QFN package. It is ideal for portable devices powered by single-cell lithium ion (Li+) batteries.
Typical application
The MP2101 can deliver 800mA and 200mA load currents in the 2.5V to 6V input voltage range. Both output voltages can be adjusted to 0.6V. The 800mA output channel features an integrated high-side switch and synchronous rectifier for high efficiency without an external Schottky diode. With peak current mode control and internal compensation, the MP2101 can be stabilized with ceramic capacitors and small inductors.

The high-side switch can maintain 100% duty cycle in the power failure state. The 200mA LDO output is used to power noise-sensitive circuits. It has a separate input power supply to reduce power consumption and noise from the main switch. At 150mA load, the voltage drops to 280mV. Fault state protection includes cycle limiting and hot shutdown.
